The Flat Crack Monitors consist of two plates. One is a solid white with a grid printed on it and the other plate is clear with red cross-hairs printed on it. The clear plate with the cross-hairs overlaps the white plate with the grid.
After mounting the crack monitor to each side of a crack, vertical and horizontal movement can be observed by movement of the cross-hairs in relation to the background grid.
